Chilewich is a 20 year old manufacturer of textiles for home and commercial use, including contract and hospitality. I was asked to establish a strategy that would help make sense of their online business; one that includes a general consumer audience, restaurant customers, architects, interior designers and wholesale partners.
Following 4 months of strategy work, the result was a plan to design 5 separate, but related, websites for each Chilewich audience and customer. Beyond improving the visuals of the brand, we also capitalized on the family owned aspect of the company. Sandy Chilewich and Joe Sultan have run the business together since its inception, showing that a family owned design business can provide high quality products at large volume.
Lastly, the site uses the natural beauty of the textiles to create visual interest, allocating a clean and straight forward design that will last as long as the textiles themselves.
