Watson

IBM WatsonPaths is a product built on the Watson Artificial Intelligence platform geared towards medical students and doctors. The application acts as a learning tool that enables medical students to learn to make better decisions while diagnosing patients.

As an ACD/Designers embedded in a collaborative product team, I worked with creative directors, developers, subject matter experts and experience designers in the visual expression of Watson's cognitive processes and the design and development of interface elements. The team continued to make iterations based on feedback from medical students at the Cleveland Clinic.

The solution graph charts potential hypotheses and related factors Watson has deemed relevant to the case.

Any inference of hypothesis can be selected to see Watsons level of confidence in it. Students can agree or disagree with Watsons assessment which informs Watsons reasoning capabilities for future scenarios.
